Meet the Associates


Ada Cornell
Syracuse University, May 2009

Ada Cornell received her MSLIS and a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Digital Libraries from Syracuse University in 2009. She received a BA from Binghamton University, double majoring in Environmental Studies and Spanish, and also earned a certificate from Binghamton in international studies in 2007. She most recently worked as a reference librarian, youth services assistant, and clerk at the Fayetteville Free Library in New York. Ada has completed internships at the F. Franklin Moon Library at SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry, a conservation internship at the Green Mountain National Forest, and a legislative internship at the Sierra Club in Albany, NY.

MaShana Davis
University of Maryland, College Park, December 2007

MaShana received her MIM from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2007 and received a BS in Computer Science from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. She previously held a position as the Technical Communications Liaison for the Association of Research Libraries’ (ARL) Statistics and Measurement Program. In that capacity, she facilitated communication for participants and other interested parties about the effective uses of assessment tools administered by the Statistics and Measurement Program. She served as the front line of communications for the LibQUAL+®, ClimateQUAL™, and MINES for Libraries projects, and provided training and user education in the technical uses of the project’s Web-based surveys.

Sarah Westphal
Sarah Westphal received her MLIS from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee in 2009. She received her BS in Food Science from the University of Wisconsin – Madison. Sarah completed a cataloging internship at Marquette University’s Raynor Memorial Libraries in Milwaukee, WI. Sarah was previously a regulatory specialist with The Pillsbury Company and Target Corporation.

Yani Yancey
University of Maryland, College Park, August 2009

Yani Yancey received her MLS from the University of Maryland in 2009. She was a summer 2009 intern at NLM through The Association of Research Libraries' Career Enhancement Program. Ms. Yancey worked as a graduate assistant for the Digital Technology and Interface Services Team at the University of Maryland Libraries. She has experience in the health insurance and healthcare fields and received her Bachelor of Science in Speech Language Pathology and Audiology from Ithaca College. She was also a 2008-2009 American Library Association Spectrum Scholar.

Holly Zerbe
Drexel University, March 2009

Holly received her MLIS in 2009 from Drexel University, with a focus on special collections and archives. While working on her degree she served as the program coordinator for the Drexel University Special Libraries Association and completed two internships, one in the Prints and Photographs department at the Library Company of Philadelphia; and as the licensing intern in the Electronic Acquisitions department at the Van Pelt Library at the University of Pennsylvania. She received her BS in Biology from Houghton College, Houghton, NY and studied abroad in Tanzania, London and Ireland as an undergraduate. She has also previously worked as a curriculum developer and instructor for an online home school company and as a production assistant for a toy design company.
