Suggested Answer for Exercise 2:

This is a suggested answer. Your approach, as well as the number of results retrieved, may vary. New citations are added regularly to PubMed.

Use PubMed to build a strategy that retrieves citations to Review articles discussing celiac disease and then store your search in My NCBI. Do not request e-mail updates.

  • Step 1: Type celiac disease in the PubMed query box and click Limits. Under the Type of Article menu select Review. Click Go to run the search.

  • Step 2: PubMed returns the results of your search. Click the Save Search link to the right of the query box. If you do not already have a My NCBI account, register for one now. Enter your My NCBI User Name and Password and click the Sign In button.

  • Step 3: Edit the search name to Celiac Disease Review articles. The default is set to answer “No” to the “Would you like to receive e-mail updates of new search results?” question so we just click the OK button.

Note: Click My NCBI from the top right-hand corner banner to view your stored searches.
