Adding a Serial Holdings Record for multiple libraries

Only DOCLINE Serial Holdings Coordinators have rights to add holdings for multiple libraries.  You will only be able to add records for libraries for which you have update rights. Rights are determined by Serial Holdings authorizations that are established by the Regional DOCLINE Coordinator.

Select Serial Holdings from the DOCLINE Main Menu.

Select Update/View.

On the "Serial Holdings Search" page, enter a search term into one of the four Bibliographic Search fields.

In the Filters area, input the LIBID(s), State/Province(s), or Library Group(s) in the corresponding field and the holdings for the serial title for which you are searching would be limited to those libraries.

Tip:  LIBIDs can be separated by either a comma or a space.  Use Institutions search to find a LIBID if you do not know it.

On the "Serial Holdings Search" page, click Search.

On the left side of the screen under "Search Results" and the listing of libraries that currently report holdings, click on the checkbox in front of each LIBID for which you want to add holdings.

Select the appropriate Retention Policy

Note:  The default is Permanent Retention.

Select the appropriate Acquisition Status.

Input the Volumes and/Year information for the holdings owned.

Click Add.

Repeat steps 6-10 until all holdings that you wish to add for that title have been added.
