The program of birth control and family planning encourages single people to delay marriage, married people to use reliable methods to avoid pregnancy, and those with many children to use scientific methods of sterilization. These methods of family planning benefit the health of mothers and children, the bringing-up of the next generation, and the fulfillment of men and women at work, production, and study, as well as contribute to the national health and prosperity.

There are six panels depicting family planning has many advantages. The top two images have adults instructing other Chinese civilians, then there are two images of a mother instructing her kids, and the final two pictures show a girl in a ceremony and an athletic young man.

The poster is printed in both Chinese and Uyghur languages. It promotes the benefits of family planning: good for socialist reconstruction, for workers’ production and study, for the education of next generation to continue the revolution, for family life, for the health of mothers and children, and for the national health and prosperity.
