The exhibition and brochure were made possible by the generous support of:

  • The League of Arab States
  • The U.S.-Arab Chamber of Commerce
  • The Arab-American Physicians of the Washington Area

Dr. Emilie Savage-Smith served as exhibit consultant and author of the accompanying brochure. Anne Whitaker of the History of Medicine Division played a major role in preparing the exhibition, in collaboration with Dr. Savage-Smith. Acting Director Philip M. Teigen, Ph.D. provided administrative support and organized the accompanying lecture program.

Joseph Fitzgerald (Lister Hill Center for Biomedical Communications) created the exhibit poster and brochure cover based upon a calligraphic design of Mohamed Zakariya, commissioned for this purpose. Bill Leonard (Lister Hill Center) produced the accompanying video on Islamic Calligraphy, featuring Mohamed Zakariya.
