Sometimes, the first attack on ignorance is to ask a question. AIDS raised a lot of questions, but many people were too afraid to voice them for fear of the social stigma attached to the risk behaviors first associated with AIDS. Because of this, many public awareness campaigns provided information, but this one encouraged readers to speak up and begin the discussion.
