Some people think they come of age when they’ve been burnt by gonorrhea, but if they’ve been burnt by AIDS they may never come of age, 1980s-1990s

While untreated syphilis could be fatal, most sexually transmitted diseases before AIDS did not carry the consequence of death. Posters like this one from America Responds to AIDS focused on reaching black communities with information on the potential outcomes of AIDS.
