Question: How do I search by date?
Answer:

The best way to search for a date is to use the Advanced Search:

  1. Select the data field "Publication Information".
  2. In the "find all these words" field, enter two digits for a known century, three digits for a known decade, or four digits for an exact year.

Examples:         Century: 19         Decade: 198         Year: 1985

It is possible to perform a keyword search on a date in the Search IHM box, but because a keyword search looks at every data field in the bibliographic record, this search is likely to return many false hits. For example, you may retrieve records where the digits of the year appear in another field, such as an order number or system control number.
