Jim (Catfish) Hunter

In 1968, Jim (Catfish) Hunter, son of North Carolina sharecroppers, pitched the American League's first perfect game since 1922. He received the Cy Young Award for best pitcher in his league in 1974 and was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1987.
