Abstract

The Historical Collections & Archives of the Robert B. Greenblatt, M.D. Library is committed to acquiring, organizing, preserving, and making available historical collections related to the Medical College of Georgia and the history of the health sciences. The Historical Collections and Archives are dedicated to delivering quality service in support of historical and institutional research to MCG affiliated patrons, health science professionals, and to the community. Hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. An appointment with the Historical Collections and Archives staff is recommended.

 
Holdings

Rare Book Library contains approximately 5,000 rare or unique books on a variety of health science subjects. The books are organized into four collections of 19th Century, Landmark, MCG Authors, and Theses. Historical Collections and Archives houses the manuscripts of Raymond Ahlquist, Philip Dow, Robert B. Greenblatt, Curtis Hames, Titus Huisman, G Lombard Kelly, and Alice Stewart. The archives include official records, images, correspondences, plans, publications, artifacts and other materials relating to the history of the university from the founding of the Medical College of Georgia in 1828 to the present.
