Refine Results

Once a search is performed, the results will display refinement options to the left of the screen, for the Index-Catalogue and eTkeVK2 tabs only, allowing users to narrow their search results.

There is no ‘refine by:’ option available for the LocatorPlus, PubMed, or PubMed Central tabs.

In Index-Catalogue, refine by:

  • Series
  • Type of Resource

In eTkeVK2, refine by:

  • eTK
  • eVK2

Beneath each ‘refine by:’ category will be a list of results for that option. Each option will be followed by a number in parentheses. This number represents the number of times the term is found in Index-Catalogue or eTKeVK2.

Clicking on one of the search refinements will automatically re-run the search based on the new criteria added to the search. The selected refinement will also be displayed at the top of the search results. You may select additional refinements to narrow your search results further.

Remove Refinements

On search results pages, selected refinements are designated in bold, red font to the left of the screen underneath their categories. They are also listed at the top of the results list.

Refinements can be removed by clicking on the x symbol next to each search parameter you want removed.

To remove refinements from a search:

  1. Perform a search and view the results list.
  2. Click on the x next to the field you want removed from your search.
  3. Results list will revert to the set of search results that comply with the remaining search parameters.
