Abstact   The HRC does not have an oral history collection as a separate collection. Usually, any tapes or transcripts are considered part of the collection of the entity that created them. The only exception: The Arkansas Senior Physicians videotape collection. These were created from interviews done from 1990-2000, and some of them have transcripts.

Quantity   About 150 items from all sources. As collections are processed that include oral history items, resources are added.

Collection Description   Arkansas Senior Physicians videotape collection. Interviews with older practicing physicians with information on the history of medicine and medical practice in Arkansas. Interviews were done from 1990-2000. Some transcripts available.

History of Public Health in Arkansas (H515, Box 38). 70 audiocassettes of interviews of employees of the Dept. of Health in Arkansas.

Arkansas State Nurses Association. (H338). Transcripts of 14 oral history interviews from the University of Central Arkansas oral history program, concerning the history of nursing in Arkansas.

Other items include an interview with Mrs. Hilda Coates concerning the history of birth control in Arkansas; an interview with Dr. Horace Marvin concerning the history of UAMS; a tape from W. David Baird's papers concerning the history of medicine in Arkansas, and oral history tapes concerning the history of Trinity Hospital (Little Rock Ark, from 1924-1953)
