Jim Pash joined the Medical Subject Headings Section in April 1998. He earned his undergraduate degree in Chemistry from Hartwick College and has a M.S. degree in Chemistry and a Ph.D. degree in Biochemistry from The George Washington University.
He received postdoctoral training at the National Cancer Institute where he conducted research on High Mobility Group proteins. Prior to arriving at the Medical Subject Headings Section, he was involved in bone metabolism research and held the position of Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Connecticut.
