Tammy Powell received a BS in Biology from Indiana University, MLIS from the University of Texas, and an MS in Technical Management from Johns Hopkins University. Prior to receiving her masters degree, she did an internship at IBM in Boca Raton, Florida. She came to NLM in 1988 as a Technical Information Specialist for the Index Section where she did chemical editing for the Supplementary Chemical Records.
She has been a member of the MeSH staff since 1991. Currently, she manages RxNorm and UMLS editing.
