Transcript: Healing Totem stops at Candeska Cikana College

[Drumming and chanting]
[Eugene Hale:]
The tree alone that made the totem pole is very sacred. It came from Mother Earth. Whatever came from Mother Earth is very sacred. The symbols that are on there represent something that we can get healed from. Even just to look at it you can feel the healing around you. I'm glad that I came here — that we could get a chance to see it and hear a little bit about it was a blessing to a lot of us here.
[Cynthia Lindquist:]
NLM as we call it — National Library of Medicine is a phenomenal resource and we're very fortunate that our little library here at Candeska Cikana our Valerie Merrick Memorial Library gets a small grant from NLM so in my professional career when you find people, individuals, organizations that are willing to take that time to learn, to listen, and to reach out they're good people; they're good friends that you need to hold onto.
