1976: First annual Indian arts and crafts festival held

The Miccosukee invite artists from the Cherokee, Haudenosaunee Six Nations, the Mississippi Choctaw, Navajo, Puebloan, and Ho-Chunk nations to spend a week at the Miccosukee reservation in the Florida Everglades celebrating traditional skills and teaching youngsters.
