People continue to look for information on a specific disease/condition information and drug information – and more people are doing it.
The growth among people who receive newsletters – and presumably read at least some of it has grown exponentially.

MedlinePlus will enhance its newsletters this year.

Another change we need to prepare for is the change in how people will access web information: the world will connect to the Internet via mobile.
Today 550 million subscribe to an internet service – with the majority, 61%, accessing the web via a desktop or laptop.
In only a couple short years, it is estimated that 1.5 billion people will subscribe to an internet service, but the majority, 79%, will access the web via a mobile device.

MedlinePlus will launch a mobile version this coming year.

Simplifying the navigation options on the homepage will be a key part of the redesign.

Adding health topic links to the homepage is another important part of the redesign.
Two ways we will do that: popular topics by demographic group and popular searches via the search cloud
