  • July 2015 SNOMED CT International Release now available

    The July 2015 International Release of SNOMED CT is available for download. The RF1 and RF2 release files are now two separate download files. The SNOMED CT RF1 Compatibility Package tools are available for download from the same Web page. The SNOMED CT RF2 to RF1 Conversion files and additional RF1 files can be found on the SNOMED CT Permanent Packages page. Older versions of SNOMED CT International can be found on the SNOMED CT Archives page.

  • Updated SNOMED CT Notification - Removal of 'SNOMED CT to GMDN Simple Map'

    The IHTSDO has notified National Release Centers that it is required that the SNOMED CT to GMDN Simple Map be removed from the previously released, January 2015 International Release of SNOMED CT. As such, the NLM has posted the updated January 2015 International Release (http://www.nlm.nih.gov/research/umls/licensedcontent/snomedctfiles.html). And we have updated the March 2015 US Edition Release (http://www.nlm.nih.gov/research/umls/Snomed/us_edition.html). Please update your SNOMED CT data with the new downloads.

  • Updated CMT Obstetrics and Gynecology Subset Available

    This problem list subset update includes concepts that Kaiser Permanente uses within the Obstetrics and Gynecology Problem Lists. There are 1823 concepts in the file and includes mappings to ICD-9-CM and ICD-10-CM. SNOMED CT concepts are based on the 1/31/2014 International Release.

  • Updated SNOMED CT to ICD-10-CM mapping file

    NLM is pleased to announce the release of an updated SNOMED CT to ICD-10-CM mapping. The purpose of the SNOMED CT to ICD-10-CM map is to support semi-automated generation of ICD-10-CM codes from clinical data encoded in SNOMED CT for reimbursement and statistical purposes. This updated mapping file is derived from the March 2015 US Edition of SNOMED CT and the 2015 version of ICD-10-CM. There are a total of 66,257 SNOMED CT concepts mapped in this updated release. The updated release (SNOMEDCT_ICD10CM_map_20150901) can be downloaded now as a standalone file with your UTS login. Additionally, the mapping file will be packaged as part of the September 2015 US Edition of SNOMED CT, set to be released in September.

  • Nominations and Applications for the IHTSDO Advisory Groups now being accepted (deadline: August 14, 2015)

    The NLM would like to announce on behalf of the IHTSDO of the formation of seven new IHTSDO Advisory Groups (AG). The AGs are the successors of the IHTSDO Standing Committees, which will allow for a more agile and flexible Advisory Group structure. The AGs will conduct specific activities that will contribute to the fulfillment of the Management Team’s responsibilities or the organization’s mandate. The IHTSDO is seeking volunteers to serve on the following Advisory Groups:

    1. Content Managers Advisory Group
    2. E-Learning Advisory Group
    3. Modeling Advisory Group
    4. SNOMED CT Editorial Advisory Group
    5. Software Developers Advisory Group
    6. Terminology Release Advisory Group
    7. Tooling User Advisory Group

    For additional information on the different Advisory Groups, and the nomination and application process, please see the IHTSDO news note. The nomination period is open now until August 14, 2015.
