  • Nominations and Applications for the IHTSDO Advisory Groups now being accepted (deadline: August 14, 2015)

    The NLM would like to announce on behalf of the IHTSDO of the formation of seven new IHTSDO Advisory Groups (AG). The AGs are the successors of the IHTSDO Standing Committees, which will allow for a more agile and flexible Advisory Group structure. The AGs will conduct specific activities that will contribute to the fulfillment of the Management Team’s responsibilities or the organization’s mandate. The IHTSDO is seeking volunteers to serve on the following Advisory Groups:

    1. Content Managers Advisory Group
    2. E-Learning Advisory Group
    3. Modeling Advisory Group
    4. SNOMED CT Editorial Advisory Group
    5. Software Developers Advisory Group
    6. Terminology Release Advisory Group
    7. Tooling User Advisory Group

    For additional information on the different Advisory Groups, and the nomination and application process, please see the IHTSDO news note. The nomination period is open now until August 14, 2015.

  • IHTSDO seeking comments on proposed deprecation of two items (ICD-9-CM map and RF1)

    The IHTSDO will be seeking comments on proposed deprecation and withdrawal of support of two items, the:

    1. SNOMED CT to ICD-9-CM Epidemiological and Statistical Map – Comments will be taken from July 20 – September 20, 2015.
    2. SNOMED CT Release Format 1 (RF1) – Comments will be taken from July 17 – October 1, 2015.

    Information regarding the reason for deprecation and withdrawal of support, as well as how to submit comments and inquiries are available via the links. Please note, the NLM will continue to maintain and distribute the relevant ICD-10-CM and ICD-9-CM maps supporting usecases relevant for the United States, available on the NLM Metathesaurus Mapping Page. And the NLM distributes and encourages the use of US Edition of SNOMED CT in RF2 format.

  • New CMT Subset on ENT, Gastroenterology, and Infectious Diseases Available
    June 16, 2015
    This problem list subset update includes concepts that Kaiser Permanente uses within the ENT, Gastroenterology, and Infectious Diseases Problem Lists. There are 3,766 concepts in the file and includes mappings to ICD-9-CM and ICD-10-CM. SNOMED CT concepts are based on the 1/31/2014 International Release.

  • Candidate Baseline of SNOMED CT and ICNP Cooperative Project, Feedback due by July 10, 2015

    A Candidate Baseline of the International Classification for Nursing Practice (ICNP) and SNOMED CT Cooperative Project is now available. The release contains a bi-directional ICNP -- SNOMED CT nursing diagnoses (problems) equivalency table. This release should be evaluated in the context of the January 2015 SNOMED CT International Edition.

    Currently the Candidate Baseline is distributed for evaluation purposes only and should not be used in production clinical systems or in the clinical setting.

    The deadline for feedback is July 10, 2015 via the online feedback form.

  • Updated CORE Problem List Subset
    May 20, 2015
    The Clinical Observations Recording and Encoding (CORE) Problem List Subset has been updated and is now available for download. This subset is based on the January 2015 International Release of SNOMED CT and the 2015AA UMLS Release.
