2008AA - Current UMLS Release What's New Metathesaurus®: 4 new sources were added: ICNP (International Classification for Nursing Practice), LNC_Braden (The Braden Scale for Predicting Pressure Sore Risk), LNC_FLACC (The Faces, Legs, Activity, Cry, and Consolability (FLACC) Scale), and LNC_WHO (Patient Monitoring Guidelines for HIV Care and Antiretroviral Therapy (ART)). 47 sources were updated, including MeSH, CPT, LOINC, SNOMED CT in English and Spanish, and RxNorm. For a complete list of updated sources see http://www.nlm.nih.gov/research/umls/updated_sources.html. LOINC currently contains a small amount of proprietary data from six copyrighted sources. NLM extracts this data and represents it as six separate sources in the Metathesaurus. These are: LNC_MDS, LNC_OASIS, LNC_PHQ_9, LNC_Braden, LNC_FLACC and LNC_WHO.
MetamorphoSys: The RRF Browser now includes a Restrict Searches and Views option that allows users to highlight terms from specific sources, semantic types, or content views. A tutorial on the use of the new Restrict Searches and Views option can be found in the New Users Guide (http://www.nlm.nih.gov/research/umls/new_users.html). Users who are new to the UMLS are encouraged to review the New Users Guide to the UMLS available at http://www.nlm.nih.gov/research/umls/new_users.html. This guide includes online demonstrations, step-by-step instructions and a link to UMLS training materials. SPECIALIST Lexicon and Lexical Tools: There are no known problems for the 2007AC release.
