RxNorm Current Prescribable Content Release Notes

November Release - 11/07/2011

This RxNorm Current Prescribable Content release is consistent with the 2011AA UMLS Metathesaurus release. For additional information about RxNorm releases, including scripts for loading the RxNorm data into Oracle and MySQL databases, read the RxNorm Documentation.

Data Changes

TTY=BN Human/Vet Attributes:
TTY=BN atoms will no longer carry the RXN_HUMAN_DRUG or RXN_VET_DRUG attributes, which denote drugs that are intended for human and/or veterinary use. These attributes will remain attached to the TTY=SBD atoms that are related to the TTY=BN atoms via the 'ingredient_of/has_ingredient' RELA.

Dose Form Group Relationships:
A few of the relationship attributes (RELA) for the recently-released dose form group term types (TTY) have changed to better reflect the relationships between these types of concepts. The following table includes the updated RELAs:

TTY2RELATTY1
DF isa DFG
DFG inverse_isa DF
SBDF isa SBDG
SBDG inverse_isa SBDF
SCDF isa SCDG
SCDG inverse_isa SCDF
