Data Changes

NDFRT sub-sources:
The Veterans Health Administration (VHA) added two new sets of relationship data to NDFRT. RxNorm will include two new sources (SABs) - NDFRT_FDASPL and NDFRT_FMTSME - for these relationship data sets. NDFRT_FDASPL represents the pharmacologic classification indexing of the active ingredients in the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Structured Product Labels (SPLs). NDFRT_FMTSME is a subset of NDFRT drug classifications and their hierarchies, which were designated by the Federal Medication Terminologies (FMT) subject matter experts. NDFRT_FDASPL and NDFRT_FMTSME are relationships-only sources, and they provide links between SAB=NDFRT entities. You can read more about the additional relationships in the NDFRT documentation.

Extended Release Enteric Coated Capsule/Tablet dose forms:
RxNorm will no longer use the 'Extended Release Enteric Coated Capsule' or 'Extended Release Enteric Coated Tablet' dose forms for SAB=RXNORM normalized names. SCD and SBD concepts previously applied this dose form now use the 'Enteric Coated Capsule' or 'Enteric Coated Tablet' dose forms. This change affects a total of 28 SCD and SBD concepts.
