The International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) is produced by the World Health Organization (WHO). ICF is part of the WHO Family of International Classifications (WHO-FIC).

Purpose
ICF is an international standard for describing and measuring health and disability.

Description
ICF is a classification of health and health-related domains, and includes environmental factors. The domains are classified from body, individual and societal viewpoints. Two main lists classify these domains: body functions and structure, and activity and participation. The list of environmental factors is used to record the impact of environment on the functioning of a person.

Audience
ICF is useful for understanding and measuring health outcomes. It can be used in clinical settings, health services or surveys at the individual or population level.
