The dictionary is a terminology of approximately 7,729 non-technical language terms related to cancer and medicine.

The NCI Dictionary of Cancer Terms is employed by researchers, clinicians, patients, and the public, using Cancer.gov web pages and other institutions and web sites.

Metathesaurus Update Frequency
The NCI Dictionary of Cancer Terms is updated annually as part of the NCI Thesaurus in the Metathesaurus.
