American Association for Laboratory Animal Science (AALAS) is an association of professional that advances responsible laboratory animal care and use to benefit people and animals.

American College of Veterinary Anesthesia and Analgesia (ACVAA) goals include establishing, evaluating and maintaining the highest standards in the practice of veterinary anesthesiology by promoting the establishment of educational facilities and clinical and research training in veterinary anesthesiology.

American College of Veterinary Clinical Pharmacology's (ACVCP) has the primary objective to advance the discipline of veterinary clinical pharmacology as a clinical specialty and assure the competence of those who practice in this field.

American Veterinary Medical Association & American Veterinary Medical Foundation (AVMA) is a not-for-profit association representing more than 84,000 veterinarians working in private and corporate practice, government, industry, academia, and uniformed services. The network provides information on pet care, animal health, veterinary medicine, and careers in veterinary medicine for veterinary professionals and some client information for pet and animal owners.

The Animal Welfare Information Center (AWIC) of the National Agricultural Library is mandated by the Animal Welfare Act (AWA) to provide information for improved animal care and use in research, testing, teaching, and exhibition.

ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center is a resource for any animal poison-related emergency. Note that fees are charged.

Center for Veterinary Medicine (CVM) regulates the manufacture and distribution of food additives and drugs that will be given to animals. These include animals from which human foods are derived, as well as food additives and drugs for pet (or companion) animals.

CAB Abstracts from CABI covers research and development literature in fields of agriculture, forestry, aspects of human health, human nutrition, animal health, as well as the management and conservation of natural resources. It requires subscription access. 1973- .
