American Foundation for the Blind. This national nonprofit organization advocates for people with low vision, providing support to families and educational programs for professionals and the public.
American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). ASHA is a professional, scientific, and credentialing association for audiologists, speech-language pathologists, and speech, language, and hearing scientists.
National Eye Institute (NEI). This institute of the NIH conducts research and develops public and professional education programs that help prevent blindness, reduce visual impairment, and increase awareness of services and devices that are available for people with low vision.
National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders (NIDCD). This NIH institute conducts and supports biomedical and behavioral research and research training in the normal and disordered processes of hearing, balance, taste, smell, voice, speech, and language.
Prevent Blindness America. This national charitable organization provides programs and services promoting eye health and safety.
