DOCLINE -- SERHOLD to OCLC Batch Update Library Participation

Question: My library participates in both DOCLINE and OCLC, but I don't want my library's holdings to be updated in OCLC via the Serial Holdings to OCLC program. What do I have to do to prevent this from occurring?

Answer:

  • Nothing. The default value for Batch Update Authorization on the Membership page, Serial Holdings Section, of all Institution records is "No authorization given." A change to this value is only required if you want NLM to send your library's holdings to OCLC.
    • Regional DOCLINE Coordinators will provide assistance with questions on this topic.
    • A listing of Regional DOCLINE Coordinators is located at the bottom of the SERHOLD Fact Sheet (http://www.nlm.nih.gov/pubs/factsheets/serhold.html).
