FAQ
DOCLINE -- Routing by Format

Question: How does "Fill from Physical Format" work?

Answer:

Borrowers can choose the physical format of the journal from which they want their requests filled.  They may choose "Electronic", "Text" or "Any" in the Fill from Physical Format field.  The default is fill from "Any" physical format.

If the borrower selects "Electronic" or "Text", DOCLINE will only route the requests to lenders who report owning the specified format.  "Electronic" format matches the holdings format of 'cr' (electronic resource, remote).  "Text" will match the serial holdings formats beginning with 't' (Text; Text, Other, etc.).

Additionally, requests will automatically default to Electronic format for "Epub ahead of print" articles if every citation on the DOCLINE Citation page is "Epub ahead of print".
