Question: What are the rules for the Index-Catalogue material indexed in IndexCat™?

Answer:

Index-Catalogue of the Library of the Surgeon-General's Office, 1870-1961 reflects materials owned by the Library of the Surgeon-General's Office, U.S. Army, and its successors. It is not a bibliography of all published works in medicine and related sciences.

Index Medicus, was the index developed for timely publication to current journal articles, and selected items from the Index-Catalogue that met the standards for professional literature and audience.
