FAQ: NLM® LocatorPlus® -- Finding Articles
I want to find journal articles, including full text articles, on a subject. Can I find these in LocatorPlus?
Answer:
LocatorPlus does not include article references or the full text of journal articles. LocatorPlus information may include a link to the publisher's Web site.
You may be able to get a full text article for free or buy the article at the publisher Web site.
- Search LocatorPlus for the journal title, not the article title for your search. Or, search for a list of journal titles by subject or publisher.
- Click a journal title name to see the Holdings Record for that title. This record tells what print and electronic volumes and issues NLM owns.
- If the Location is “Electronic link: free at producer site,” click the Web address called “Electronic Links.” The link will take you to the publisher’s Web site. You can search this site for specific articles (registration may be required).
- If the Location is “Electronic link: see producer site,” you need to log-in with a subscription (personal or from your library) or pay for the article you want.
More information about getting full-text articles is in PubMed Help.
