Research on plants is becoming increasingly important in basic life sciences and biomedical research as it furthers our understanding of fundamental physical, chemical and biological structures and processes.
NLM is interested in fundamental research on plants at the molecular level (e.g., DNA sequencing), and health-related effects of plants and plant products (e.g., animal and
human nutrition,
pharmacology,
toxicology). The Library also collects research on plant physiology when it is applicable to biomedical research.
