Sub-Indexes (SIs)

  • Facets of main index terms are entered in Sub-Indexes (SIs). Types of SIs:
    • General—Denotes general coverage

    • See—Refers user to a more specific main index term

    • Topical (subject)—Designates a facet of the main heading
