Special Collaborative Agreements
Publications in some specialized subject areas are selected by outside organizations with which NLM has special collaborative arrangements. The subject areas and organizations may change over time. In the past they have included the American Dental Association; the American Nurses' Association and the National League for Nursing; the American Hospital Association; Johns Hopkins University Center for Communication Programs; the National Aeronautics and Space Administration; the Kennedy Institute of Ethics at Georgetown University; and the History of Medicine Division, NLM. At present, they include the ECRI Institute, a nonprofit independent organization committed to advancing the quality of healthcare through specialized information products and services concerning medical procedures, devices, processes, and drugs.
If Users viewing a journal record in Locatorplus on the Detailed display or in the NLM Catalog Full display see that the “indexed In” section reads: "Selected citations only", this means only selected articles from that journal are in PubMed; this type of coverage is indicative of indexing done by the NLM Special Collaborators.
To identify the collaborator partner responsible for selecting the citations, search the journal in PubMed and view the MEDLINE display. The OWN element identifies the originating organization.
The Kennedy Institute of Ethics at Georgetown University agreement ceased in January 2007.
The National Aeronautics and Space Administration agreement ceased in late 2005.
The Johns Hopkins University Center for Communication Programs agreement ceased in early 2001.
