Resubmitting retired unfilled requests

To resubmit retired unfilled requests from the DOCLINE Home page, do the following:

Select the "requests were retired unfilled" link in the Activity and Status area of the DOCLINE Home page.

View

Request data is displayed in the following columns: Request #, Request Info, Action Date, Action and Institution.  Requests can be sorted Oldest to Newest, Newest to oldest, by Action, Patron Name, Institution, Service Level or Citation. To change sorting, select Sorted By at the top of the page, and make selections under View Options.

 

Click REFRESH.

To view a request, click the request number under the Request # column.

To view the history of a request, click on the action text (e.g. "Not Filled" or "Expired") under the Action column.

Users are strongly encouraged to review the history of a request prior to resubmitting to help determine which values to modify during resubmit (e.g. "Cost", "Need No Later Than" date, etc.).

To return to the Status/Cancel screen after viewing the request or routing history, click Return.

To resubmit a request, click on the green arrow, or the "Resubmit Request" link corresponding to the desired request, in the Request # column.

 

Note: The values displayed on the Citation Input, Routing Instructions, and Delivery Address pages are from the retired request.

Review the citation information of the retired request (non-PubMed requests only). As necessary, modify the citation on the Citation Input screen. Click NEXT.

Review the Routing Instructions of the retired request.

  1. If "Not Filled" (Cost), check the Maximum Cost field.
  2. If "Expired", check the Need No Later Than field.
  3. If "Beyond Routing Map", check the Service Level, Service Type, Physical Format, Only Route to EFTS Participants limit, delivery method(s), and routing cells selected.
 

Modify the Routing Instructions as necessary to widen your pool of potential lenders to maximize the chances of having the request filled.  For example, select route to Resource Libraries and All other Libraries, or remove the Only Route to EFTS Participants limit.

  
Click NEXT.

Review the delivery address and modify as necessary.

 

Click FINISH.

A new DOCLINE request number is generated.

Click RETURN to go back to Status/Cancel to view the list of remaining retired requests.

Notes

A DOCLINE request can only be resubmitted once.

 

A transferred Loansome Doc request becomes a DOCLINE request.  If the DOCLINE request retires, the linked Loansome Doc request is retired as well.  If you choose to resubmit the DOCLINE request, it is not linked to the Loansome Doc request and will not generate the "Shipped to Patron" notification upon Fill.

 

 

To resubmit retired unfilled requests from Status/Cancel:

Select Requests from the DOCLINE main menu.

Select Status/Cancel.

Enter the request number(s), patron name or email address in the Request # or Patron search box

OR

Select search criteria of “DOCLINE/Borrow/Retired" in the Define Search Limits search area. Optionally, set the date range you wish to search within.  Requests are available for 150 days from date of Final Action (filled or rejected).

 

Click SEARCH.

View
