Washington remembers, October 8th and 9th, 1988, 1988

The AIDS Memorial Quilt was first displayed in the nation’s capital in 1987. Containing nearly 2,000 panels, it drew more than half a million visitors, which prompted a nationwide tour. When the quilt returned to Washington, DC, the following year, the number of panels had quadrupled.

    The Whitman Walker Clinic Welcomes “The Names Project Quilt” to the Nation’s Capitol

    Proceeds from the sale of this poster will be used to provide direct financial assistance to persons with AIDS through the Clinic’s AIDS Foundation.
