HAWAII

More than 250 community members, representing Hawaiian civic clubs, community organizations, heritage associations, and medical institutions, celebrated the Native Voices exhibition opening at the Queens Medical Center’s Hawaiian Heritage Day 2014 in downtown Honolulu. They marked the occasion with presentations, ceremonies, and music, reflecting the ongoing value of indigenous cultures and traditions.

From there the exhibition moved to two different locations associated with the University of Hawaii-Manoa: the John A. Burns School of Medicine and the Hamilton Library. These sites are intended to reach a blend of committed medical professionals and young persons who might be drawn to medical and health careers, and Native Hawaiian healing and culture.
