NLM Interlibrary Loan (ILL)

NLM provides biomedical literature, both journal articles and books, to US and international libraries from our print and electronic collections.

There are two ways libraries may use our services:

• Libraries can place requests using the NLM Interlibrary Loan Request Portal (www.nlm.nih.gov/illportal). To establish an ILL account with the National Library of Medicine (NLM) or inquire about an existing account, please contact NLM ILL support.
• Libraries participating in DOCLINE may place requests with NLM via DOCLINE. For information about joining DOCLINE (an ILL routing system developed by NLM), see the DOCLINE participation guidelines or contact your Regional Medical Library (RML).

Please note: Individuals who need access to medical literature should contact a local library.
