NLM Catalog Data Update for 2026. NLM Tech Bull. 2026 Jan-Feb;(468): e1
Update: As of January 20, 2026, the 2026 base files for all MARC, NLMXML, and MARCXML products have been posted here. A reminder that any records updated between January 1 and 13 are only available in the base file. Weekly Catfile distribution will resume on February 5 and will contain any updates since January 13.
The next monthly CatfilePlus and Serfile distributions will be on February 1.
NLM’s Metadata Management Program will begin year-end processing on Tuesday, January 6, and continue through Monday, January 12, when the 2026 MeSH will be applied to NLM’s cataloging records. The last weekly Catfile distribution with 2025 MeSH terms was on January 1. Weekly Catfile distribution will resume on January 22 and will include 2026 MeSH. Any records updated between January 1 and January 15 will be available only in the baseline file. A follow-up announcement will be posted when the baseline files for MARC and XML data are available.
The last monthly CatfilePlus and Serfile distribution with 2025 MeSH was on January 1.

Availability of MeSH MARC files for 2026 MeSH
The September, November, December 2025, and January 2026 monthly MeSH MARC files are now available for download. These monthly files include the Descriptors and Qualifiers for the 2026 Production Year.
Note: No file is available for October 2025.
