Cancer Subset Added to PubMed

Nahin AM. Cancer Subset Added to PubMed®. NLM Tech Bull. 2003 Mar-Apr;(331):e11.

April 24, 2003 [posted]

drop cap letter for a

new subject subset, "Cancer," will soon be available on the Subset pull-down menu on the PubMed Limits screen.

Another way to use this subset is directly in a search as cancer [sb].
Example:
                 life expectancy AND cancer [sb]

The Cancer subset is a joint project between the National Cancer Institute and NLM (National Center for Biotechnology Information and Library Operations). Please see the article, CANCERLIT® Retired, NCI and NLM Collaborate to Improve Access to Cancer-Related PubMed Citations. NLM Tech Bull. 2003 Mar-Apr;(331):e9 for more information about this collaboration.

The Cancer subject subset strategy is available from the NLM Web site at: http://www.nlm.nih.gov/bsd/pubmed_subsets.html. Please watch PubMed's Home page for an announcement of this new feature.
