LOINC — SNOMED Cooperation Project Technology Preview: Release Files Available for Comment by December 15, 2014

On behalf of the International Health Terminology Standards Development Organisation (IHTSDO), NLM is pleased to announce the release of the LOINC – SNOMED Cooperation Project Technology Preview. This release is the draft resulting from a cooperative agreement between the Regenstrief Institute, the owners of LOINC, and the IHTSDO, the owners of SNOMED CT. This Technology Preview does not represent a set of data ready for clinical use within a system and has been made available at this time for review and evaluation purposes only. Thus, this release should not be used in production clinical systems or in clinical settings.

This Technology Preview includes:

• a map between LOINC terms and post-coordinated SNOMED CT expressions,
• a map between LOINC parts to SNOMED CT concepts, and
• addition of new content in either terminology.
  

Feedback is requested on the Technology Preview release to inform future development and determine fitness for purpose. Please provide feedback by December 15, 2014 through one of the following two options:
