On October 5, 2004, 53,533 citations from the 1950 Current List of Medical Literature (CLML) were added to the OLDMEDLINE subset in PubMed®. An additional 2,317 citations from the 1951-1965 timeframe were also added as part of this update. OLDMEDLINE citations now total 1,760,578.

Current data creation procedures require that journal citations are linked to an NLM serial record. The proper links may take longer to determine for these older citations.
