RxNorm Current Prescribable Content Release Notes

August Release - 08/04/2014

This RxNorm Current Prescribable Content release is consistent with the 2014AA UMLS Metathesaurus release. For additional information about RxNorm releases, including scripts for loading the RxNorm data into Oracle and MySQL databases, read the RxNorm Technical Documentation.

Data Changes

Prescribable Names:
Building upon last month's release of prescribable names (TTY=PSN), the August release includes prescribable names for many drugs with cream and lotion dose forms.

RXNREL Suppress Values:
The SUPPRESS field in RXNREL is no longer being populated. In previous RxNorm releases, while most rows included no SUPPRESS value, some rows mistakenly included a SUPPRESS='N' value. Because RxNorm editors do not suppress any relationships in RXNREL, the SUPPRESS field is no longer being populated. The SUPPRESS field for all rows is null.
