Data Changes

NDF-RT now contains data specifying a “virtual hierarchy” for FDA Established Pharmacologic Class [EPC] concepts by mapping them into the SNOMED CT Product and/or Substance hierarchies. In RxNorm, these mappings are represented as 'SNOMED_PARENT' and 'SNOMED_CHILD' attributes in the RXNSAT file. Conceptually, SNOMED CT hierarchies harbor FDA EPC concepts “virtually-embedded” within them. Please refer to the Concept Properties section of the revised full NDF-RT Documentation for details about the SNOMED_* properties that store these EPC-to-SNOMED-CT mappings.
