The Biomedical Research Integrated Domain Group (BRIDG) Model is a collective project involving contributors from HL7, the U.S. National Cancer Institute (NCI), the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Clinical Data Interchange Standards Consortium (CDISC).

Purpose
The goal of the project is to define the domain of protocol-driven research and its regulatory artifacts and to produce a shared view of its dynamic and static semantics.

Description
The BRIDG Model, or the shared view, is a Domain Analysis Model that represents the concepts in protocol-driven research. It is a structured model that supports data interchange and semantic interoperability for users in biomedicine, research and healthcare.

Metathesaurus Update Frequency
The BRIDG Model is updated annually as part of the NCI Thesaurus in the Metathesaurus.
