The Zebrafish Model Organism Database is produced by the Zebrafish Information Network (ZFIN).

Purpose
The goals of the database are to develop and support integrated zebrafish genetic, genomic and developmental information; to facilitate the use of zebrafish as a model for human biology; andto serve the needs of the research community.

Description
The Zebrafish Model Organism Database is an ontology of zebrafish anatomical terms and it includes definitions and synonyms.

Audience
Researchers use the database for annotating gene expression and phenotypes, providing a link between these two types of data commonly used to study gene function.

Metathesaurus Update Frequency
The Zebrafish Model Organism Database is updated annually as part of the NCI Thesaurus in the Metathesaurus.
