American Dental Association (ADA) seeks to influence public policy by representing and promoting the dental profession to others; to communicate dentistry's message to the public; to disseminate credible information on oral health care; to provide high quality membership support services; and to enhance the effectiveness of dentists and their staff.

American Dental Society for Anesthesiology (ADSA) is dedicated to continuing education and to the advancement of anesthesia and sedation science in dentistry.

American Society for the Advancement of Anesthesia and Sedation in Dentistry (ASAAD)'s mission is pain control in dentistry achieved by the use of sedation, intramuscular sedation, and nitrous oxide inhalation sedation.

National Institute on Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR)'s mission is to improve oral, dental and craniofacial health through research, research training, and the dissemination of health information.
