Health Statistics (General) - Organizations & Government Agencies

Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, US Department of Health and Human Services. Conducts research and disseminates reports. Its mission is to improve health care quality, safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of healthcare for all Americans. Data resources include the Healthcare Cost & Utilization Project (HCUP) and the Medical Expenditure Panel Survey (MEPS). MEPS provides a list of data sets and Statistical Briefs available on the cost and use of health care and health insurance coverage.

National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) of the US CDC, is the principal health statistics agency of the US. The NCHS also publishes the NCHS Data Brief, which contains statistical reports about current health topics.
