OverviewWith proper preparation prior to a test or procedure, a toddler's fear and anxiety may be reduced. Preparing a child for a test may include going through the steps of the procedure, explaining the body part which may be involved, or describing how the test may feel. Regardless of the test or procedure performed, the child will probably cry. The most helpful reassurance for the child is the parent's presence.
