Phase One: Thinking About the Issues
Q3c. In general, what would indicate "good" quality of life for the dialysis recipients? Consider what types of outcomes you would measure?
Suggested Solution
The ability to maintain activities of daily living, such as employment, education, or household duties and reduced medical complications are indicators of "good" quality of life for dialysis recipients and indicate a good quality of life.
You might measure whether or not the person is working or whether the person is able to cook and clean for him or herself. Can the individual drive a car? Does the person use an increasing number of medications to treat his or her ailment? Does the person require assistance on a daily or weekly basis from others?
What other quality of life issues are important to you?
