The fire is an area that we use—it starts at the time of the individual’s death, and then it burns through the time that they’re placed to rest. The fire is used in many aspects. One, to keep people warm if it’s wintertime. Two, the coals are used to cook outside. And, three, the fire is just there to continue the light of our loved one that passed on during that mourning process.
