Singing Choctaw Hymn No. 47 in Native Choctaw language

[Willis:]
[Singing in Native language].
[Lindberg:]
Thank you.
[Willis:]
Thank you.
[Lindberg:]
All right, are you going to tell us a little bit about the song?
[Willis:]
That’s one of our songs that comes from—that we have in church. It’s the Choctaw Hymnal, and this is kind of like an English hymnal, like with the music and stuff in it, but it’s all written in Choctaw, and that was one of our favorite ones—it was Hymn No. 47. And that’s mostly what we sing in church.
[Lindberg:]
Can you say what it’s—what any of the words?
[Willis:]
It talks about God shedding his blood for us, and like [in Native language] is like saying blood.
[Lindberg:]
Yeah, it sounded a little hymny. It’s very pretty. You sang it very well.
[Willis:]
Thank you.
